Simple Method To Unlock Bootloader And Root Xiaomi Mi A1

Unlock the bootloader of Xiaomi Mi A1

  • First, download and install the ADB drivers linked here.
  • Download and extract the contents of the ADB and Fastboot files linked here and move them to C: / unit.
  • Open the ADB directory present in C: drive. Inside the folder, hold down the Shift key and right-click, then select “Open command window here” or “Open Powershell window here.”
  • Turn off your phone. Press and hold the “Vol -” + “Power” buttons for 3-4 seconds to start the fastboot mode.
  • Then connect your phone to the PC.
  • In the command window of your PC, type the fastboot OEM unlock command and press Enter. Then type fast boot restart to restart your phone normally.

That’s. Now you have successfully unlocked the boot manager of your Mi A1.

Root Xiaomi Mi A1 through Magisk

  • Download the last TWRP of the XDA thread linked here and Magisk link here. NOTE: It is assumed that you have configured the ADB and fastboot drivers and executables as mentioned above.
  • Copy the magisk zip compressed file to the internal storage of your device.
  • Open the ADB directory present in C: drive. Inside the folder, right click and select “Open command window here” or “Open Powershell window here.”
  • Turn off your phone. Press and hold the “Vol -” + “Power” buttons for 3-4 seconds to start the fastboot mode.
  • Then connect your phone to the PC.
  • Copy the downloaded TWRP to the ADB folder.
  • In the command window, type fastboot boot twrp-recovery-file-name.img
  • Then your phone will start in recovery mode.
  • Goto Install, select the zip file of Magisk and slide it to show it.
  • Then click on Restart system and now you’re rooted.
  • Now you can find the Magisk Manager application present on your device that manages root permissions.
