How to Make Windows 10 PC Run Faster

windows

Windows 10 is pretty fast, but you can do it even quicker. How? To begin with, you can eliminate those “extras” within the operating system that make it look good, but they are not exactly necessary. Also, there are many processes designed to make Windows more efficient, but the way you work may not require all these cumbersome processes. Why not throw them away too?

In this tutorial, we look at all the ways you can make Windows 10 run faster on your PC. Follow these nine steps to achieve nirvana performance.

How to make Windows 10 work faster in 9 easy steps

1. Get your correct power configuration

According to its energy resources, Windows 10 runs automatically in an energy-saving plan. While this can save money on your electricity bill, it does so at the expense of your computer’s performance.

To avoid this, go to Control Panel, select Hardware and Sound and go to Power Options. Next, you will be presented with two more options, which are called Balancing and Saving Energy.

However, if you click the down arrow next to Additional Options, you can select high-performance settings. Sure, this might consume a bit more juice, but it’s the first step in making Windows 10 work even faster on your PC.

2. Trim unnecessary programs that run in the background

You may not even be aware of this, but when you start Windows 10, several programs open and run immediately. Of course, this operating system practice has been developed to make things easier for users. However, it is often more of an obstruction that can make the computer feel a bit slow.

To prevent Windows 10 from doing this, you must enter the Task Manager, which means keeping the Ctrl + Shift + Escape keys pressed. The Task Manager will look like this:

As you can see, there is a home tab that you can select to show all the processes that run when you start Windows 10. Look for the programs you do not want to start at the start, right-click on each one and select disable to prevent exhaust system resources.

Of course, the more processes you can do without, the faster your copy of Windows 10 will run. From the practical point of view, you can also enable any program that you want to have running at the moment of logging in.

3. Say goodbye to sweet eyes!

Sure, all those nice animations make Windows 10 look amazing. Such visual magic, however, comes at a cost, as each shadow and effect affects the overall performance of the system. To reduce such extravagances and make some adjustments, you will have to carry out a couple of simple procedures.

The first is to head the search box and enter the word sysdm.cpl. Doing so evokes the list of System Properties. As you can see in the image below, you will have a range of options to keep or remove animations that slow down Windows 10.

Do not think that things will suddenly become somber once you have turned off these visual attractions; keep in mind that some of the cute tricks that you have become accustomed to will no longer be available!

4. Use the problem solver!

Yes, you read it correctly. In an article that promises to make Windows 10 work faster, we ask you to ask the operating system some questions. The reason for this is that Microsoft has developed a more sophisticated help center that can tell you exactly why your computer is running slowly.

More precisely, what you will have to do is go to the search bar and look for Execute maintenance tasks.

This will identify all surplus shortcuts and data you do not use in your daily activities and get rid of them. It is a victory for you because you will get better performance at the expense of absolutely nothing.

Unsurprisingly, by cutting out all the unnecessary processes that occur under the hood, Windows 10 will start running faster immediately.

5. Cut the adware

While many of the techniques in this list identify how Windows 10 can be directly tuned to run faster, there are additional processes outside the direct control of the OS that slow things down. Adware and bloatware, for example, are like infections that get installed on your computer and slowly decrease their performance.

Removing them may sound like a difficult task, but in reality, it’s fantastically comfortable. All you have to do is search for Windows Defender and run a scan. By using this software that comes with Windows 10, you can quickly locate and remove any viruses that are running low on your computer’s performance.

6. No more transparency

The start menu is very nice, is not it? Sorry for being a bluff, but these impressive aesthetic features also deplete the performance of Windows 10. To avoid this, go to Settings and go to Personalization> Colors.

From there, deactivate the item labeled “Transparent Start, Taskbar, and Action Center.” You will notice a small but valuable increase in the performance of Windows 10.

7. Ask Windows to be silent

To make your experience more enjoyable, Windows 10 is full of clues and tips to guide you through your processes. While this can occasionally help you find the solution to a problem, it’s another small loss of performance for your computer.

To minimize consumption a bit more, go to Settings> System and turn off the switch labeled “Get tips, tricks and tips while using Windows.”

8. Run a disk cleanup

A single solution for all your Windows 10 speed problems, a disk cleanup will speed up your operating system. At the same time, you will create more space for your data by deleting unnecessary files.

As simple as searching for the Disk Cleanup in the start bar, running this procedure will automatically deregulate your system and remove any temporary files that are causing performance problems.

While this is not a new feature created for Windows 10, it is still useful. It has a long history of helping amateurs and professionals get the best out of their operating systems.

9. Restart for a good measure

Yes, this is the part of the article where we ask you to turn it off and on again. While this may seem like a surprising tip, restarting Windows 10 will completely erase your memory during the shutdown process. This means that you will reboot with a new whiteboard and you can use your PC for faster and better performance.
